The Experimental Aircraft Association
EAA is the acronym for the Experimental Aircraft Association, a national organization dedicated to promotion and support of recreational aviation through over 1,000 local chapters.

EAA 683, located in Guntersville, Alabama, conducts activities centered around aviation. Its members enjoy flying private or light sport aircraft as pilots or passengers. Some members are home builders of aircraft, either from kits or original designs. Members range from retired military fighter pilots with thousands of hours of flying experience to those who would like to learn to fly someday. No matter what your interest in flying is, you will find a group of friends in EAA 683 with whom to share it.

Meetings are on the second Thursday of every month at 7:00 PM in the FBO at Guntersville Airport and feature a program of interest, typically a guest speaker, a demonstration, or a workshop. Guests are always welcome at meetings.

Fly-In Breakfast is served on the second Saturday of every month at 8:00 AM at Guntersville Airport. EAA 683 has cooking skill as well as flying skill and invites all to verify this claim! Other Saturday mornings often find groups of EAA 683 members flying to a breakfast hosted by another EAA chapter.

Young Eagles is a program of the national EAA to stimulate interest in aviation in young people. EAA 683 provides aviation related programs for local schools and offers flights to interested students.

Other Activities include entering a float in the annual Guntersville Christmas parade, sponsoring an annual splash-in weekend (for seaplanes and amphibious aircraft), picnics and other social events.
